Teresa Dahmus is mentioned as the author of LBJ Journal of Public Affairs. Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager is mentioned for her letter in reply to the state senate. Phi Delta Kappa is mentioned in regards to a poll on education that they administered. Lake Snell Perry published an Education Week/Public Education. The Network poll. The American Association of School Administrators also references itself and its findings directly.
Audience and Agenda:
This is a bulletin from an association of high-level education admnistrators. It is intended for members that belong to the association, although the bulletin is available for public use.
Usefulness:
This provides a different prospective about the No Child Left Behind act. It shows the number of states that want to opt out of it, that cannot afford to support it, etc… One of the graphs shows that a majority of the public believes that the school board should have the greatest amount of influence over the standards for individual schools. Voters almost equally agree that the federal and state governments should be responsible in ensuring the provisions of the act are met.
