Support:
Rosary Lalik, an Associate Professor of Literacy Studies, School of Education at Virginia Tech was interviewed.  Also interviewed were:  Jay McClain-Elementary School Principal;, Gerald Bracey, Education Researcher and Author; Jean Fray-Former elementary school principal; Pat Johnson, an author and reading specialist;  Rita Perre-Davis–Literacy Coordinator; Paul Houston, Executive Director of the American Association of School Administrators; Allyn Kurin–ESOL teacher, Matt Silton–Virginia Tech Student; Steven Stilton–Virginia Tech Student; and Emily Shaw–6th grade student.  All of these people provide their views on No Child Left Behind and standardized testing–namely that it does not work and that when students go to college, they must unlearn most of what was taught from the testing.

Audience and Agenda:
This is a Youtube video shown at Youtube.com.  It appears to be a project for a Virginia Tech student–likely Matt and Steven Stilton, even if no names were given.  It is available to all with internet access, though it was probably intended orignially as a class project.

Usefulness:
This was an interesting video with a lot of information and interviews about those affected by the No Child Left Behind act and why it doesn’t work.  All of the people interviewed agree that there was no chance of the No Child Left Behind act ever working and that one day we will ask, “What were we thinking?”     Works Cited:
